Commercial leader, part of 140+ member team to launch Element from mid-design.
Responsible for evangelization and driving product roadmaps, requirements, voice-of-customer, MarComm, documentation, certification, field trials, stage gate, and P&L for Element product line.
Led creation of new standard (ASSE LEC 2012) defining new product category due to Element

May 2014 - Jan 2021

Portfolio manager of ASSE product standards and product certification services: identifying opportunities prior to competition, mobilizing volunteers for development & success, managing workflow, etc.
Working group manager for developing all water safety standards (backflow preventers, mixing valves, etc.)
Leader of committee approving public safety performance standards for the plumbing industry.
Contributing member of ASME A112, CSA B45, and CSA B125 technical committees
Responsible for P&L for Product Listing Program. Two directly reporting employees.
Manager of all product certifications: wall hydrants, thermostatic mixing valves, temp.-limiting valves, etc.
Manager of compliance with ANSI and SCC for relevant ISO requirements
Expanded certification program accreditation into Canadian market
Revamped policies and workflow for better organization and throughput. Developed design requirements for new, custom internal database for workflow.

January 2012 - April 2014

Responsible for expanding Sloan’s body of knowledge of sanitaryware design.
Led the team to set the groundwork for Sloan’s new flagship wall hung bowl
Performed competitive analyses of current and past products to become category expert to share knowledge
Mentored an Engineer I with our projects and integration into Sloan
Audited supplier’s production in China to verify compliance to agreed-upon performance metrics
Executed standard design engineer responsibilities:
- Led: design reviews, brainstorm sessions, DFMEA’s, root cause analyses, test plans;
- Established: product design requirements, project resource requirements;
Includes previous responsibilities from Design Engineer role.

February 2007 - January 2012

Key contributor in developing Sloan’s position in the sanitaryware market with cross-functional team
Co-developed industry-first, manually activated high efficiency flush valves. Received patent.
Led weekly meetings with China supplier on all (18) ceramic products in production and development, including timelines, performance expectations, field feedback, and any design negotiation.
Worked with product manager to develop briefs and train reps on offerings, quality issues, field repairs, etc.
Worked with sourcing analysts on evaluating suppliers and products to maintain cost targets.
Executed continued maintenance on existing valve product lines
Represented Sloan at several field quality issue sites as the expert. Frequently consulted on field issues.

August 2005 - October 2006

Orchestrated the simultaneous launch of 6 powertrain and wheel hub products for Ford, NASCAR, GM, and Toyota.
Managed all product issues and documentation: APQP, quality concerns, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, 8D’s.
Managed and oversaw the construction of a new CMM gauging facility
